Selected textual variants and translation differences

Modern translations do not simply delete words from the KJV. The KJV is an English translation whose New Testament translators consulted several editions in the Textus Receptus printed Greek tradition. The Textus Receptus is broadly Byzantine, but it is not identical to the Byzantine manuscript tradition, modern Majority Text editions, or the 1904 Orthodox Patriarchal Text. Modern eclectic editions weigh witnesses and readings case by case instead of reproducing one manuscript or text type.

A verse number not printed in the main text usually marks a textual variant and is commonly reported in a footnote. Compare the evidence and translation notes; no central Christian doctrine depends on a single variant listed here. This is a selected teaching tool, not an exhaustive manuscript apparatus. The seventh-day Sabbath case rests on passages whose command and day sequence remain clear across the KJV and major modern translations.
